About HER WORDS A SILVER LINING
Ian is a wishful thinker. Despite being given into the care of a cruel orchard owner as a child, he still believed his family would return for him one day…Years later, now a young man, Ian still imagines a lot of things. But one the he never imagined was that he would be responsible for a disastrous mountain fire. Or, that one of his best friends would lose all memories of ever knowing him. Or…that he was born with the blood of an Interpreter - a person capable of manifesting words spoken aloud by revered Poets.
In order to restore his friend’s stolen memories, Ian strikes a deal with the Empress- he will Interpret power at the behest of the Empress’ headstrong daughter, Phillippa.
Not long into his new station, Ian befriends his appointed tutor Kairos, who harbors a heady dislike for Phillippa and the current Empire regime. Ian learns that Kairos has also been branded a failed Poet, cast aside by the Empire’s Speakwork Academy. Both Ian and Kairos, determined to shape their own paths, illegally bridge their powers together, so that they may use their alliance to ruin Phillippa’s chances of one-day becoming a reputable Empress.
Throughout the course of Ian and Phillippa’s political masquerade, Kairos orders Ian to Interpret a horrendous act. Immediately, Ian’s social sphere comes crashing together as secrets begin to leak to the surface…
